WOMEN’S HEALTH BLOOD TESTING

Better information. More informed decisions.

Blood testing can provide valuable insight into your health — whether we’re investigating symptoms, exploring possible deficiencies or looking more closely at factors that can influence your health through midlife and beyond.

At EIRA, testing is clinically led and selected according to you — your symptoms, health history and what we actually need to understand.

The right tests, for the right reasons, with results interpreted in the context of your health.

WHEN TESTING CAN HELP

Sometimes symptoms need a closer look.

Changes in energy, mood, periods, weight, sleep or general wellbeing can have many possible causes. Hormonal changes may be part of the picture, but they aren’t always the whole story.

Targeted blood testing can help us investigate symptoms, identify deficiencies and understand other aspects of your health that may be worth addressing.

At EIRA, testing is guided by your clinical history and individual circumstances — not simply by ordering the largest panel available.

01 — FATIGUE & LOW ENERGY
Exploring potential contributors such as anaemia, iron deficiency, thyroid function and nutritional status.

04 — NUTRITIONAL HEALTH
Assessing relevant markers such as iron, vitamin B12, folate or vitamin D where indicated.

02 — PERIOD & HORMONAL CHANGES
Targeted hormonal investigation where clinically appropriate, including when symptoms or cycle changes require further assessment.

05 — METABOLIC & CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Looking at markers such as blood glucose and lipids to help build a clearer picture of longer-term health and risk.

A blood result is only one piece of information. What matters is understanding what it means in the context of you.

03 — THYROID HEALTH
Investigating thyroid function where symptoms or clinical history suggest it may be contributing to how you feel.

06 — HEALTH THROUGH MIDLIFE
Using appropriate testing alongside your wider clinical assessment to help identify areas that may benefit from attention as your health needs change.

TESTING AT EIRA

Testing shaped around your health.

There isn’t one blood panel that is right for every woman. Depending on your symptoms, stage of life, medical history and health goals, we can select individual markers or a combination of tests to answer a particular clinical question.

Testing available at EIRA includes:

01 — MENOPAUSE & HORMONAL HEALTH
Hormonal testing where clinically appropriate, alongside other markers that may help us investigate symptoms or changes through perimenopause and menopause.

04 — METABOLIC & CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Markers including glucose regulation and lipid profiles to help us understand metabolic health and longer-term cardiovascular risk.

02 — FATIGUE & NUTRITIONAL HEALTH
Testing that can explore potential contributors to tiredness and reduced wellbeing, including blood count, iron status and relevant vitamins and nutrients.

05 — GENERAL HEALTH
Broader testing can provide information about areas such as liver and kidney function, blood health and other key health markers.

Not sure which tests you need? You don't need to decide before you come. We'll recommend testing based on your individual assessment.

A blood result is only one piece of information. What matters is understanding what it means in the context of you.

03 — THYROID HEALTH
From initial thyroid-function testing to more detailed investigation where clinically indicated.

06 — PERSONALISED TESTING
Where a standard panel isn't appropriate, individual tests can be selected according to your clinical assessment and what we actually need to investigate.

HOW IT WORKS

From testing to meaningful next steps.

Blood testing is most useful when it forms part of a wider understanding of your health. At EIRA, we consider why a test is needed, what the result means for you and whether anything needs to happen next.

01 — ASSESS
We start with your symptoms, health history and individual circumstances to understand what we need to investigate.

03 — INTERPRET
Your results are clinically reviewed and considered alongside your symptoms, medical history and wider health picture.

02 — TEST
Blood is taken at EIRA and sent to our laboratory partner for analysis. We select the tests that are relevant to you rather than routinely testing everything.

04 — PLAN
We’ll explain what your results mean and discuss appropriate next steps, which may include lifestyle changes, treatment, further investigation, repeat testing or onward referral where needed.

ACCESSING BLOOD TESTING

Testing that fits into your care.

If blood testing is recommended as part of your Women’s Health, Menopause or Longevity care, we can usually take your blood during your consultation or review appointment.

There’s no need to book a separate phlebotomy appointment simply because testing may be required.

Once your results are available, they’ll be clinically reviewed and we’ll explain what they mean, whether anything needs further investigation and what — if anything — we recommend doing next.

Blood tests are charged separately from your consultation or review unless specifically included within the service you have booked. We’ll discuss the tests recommended and their cost with you before proceeding.

ALREADY KNOW WHICH TEST YOU NEED?

If you require a specific blood test or have been advised to arrange testing, please contact the clinic. We can advise on the most appropriate way to arrange this.

What happens if one of my results is abnormal?

Yes, you can ask us about a particular test or panel. As a clinically led service, we’ll consider whether the test is appropriate and whether additional or alternative testing may provide more useful information.

Yes. Your results are clinically reviewed and we’ll explain their significance in the context of your health, symptoms and reason for testing. We don't expect you to interpret laboratory results on your own.

An abnormal result doesn't always mean that something is wrong, and results need to be interpreted in context. Where appropriate, we may recommend repeat or additional testing, treatment, monitoring or review by your GP or another healthcare professional.

Yes. If you're interested in a specific test or would like help understanding which testing may be appropriate, please contact us. We'll advise you on the most suitable way to arrange this.
